All its saying is that if you've made modifications to one system (say installed a security update) that wasn't done on another system, the two systems will necessarily have to download a different number of components -thus the downloads will be a different size. Another factor is that if a 3rd party app modified a system file, Software Update may need to replace that file (a larger download) as opposed to simply modifying it. So AFAIK once all machines are fully updated, they still have the same files on them. The "machine dependance" of the updates simply reflects machines that are not all starting from the same point, not a machine dependance in the OS installed. -Mike
