Wow, thanks for those... just played with those in the apps I happen to have open. Worked as described in the Finder and Text Edit. Only forward delete of single character worked in InDesign....ignored others. In MS word, the Fn-Command-Delete does a forward word delete in Word X, no macro necessary. Learn something new every day... AM
