I work at a university and the Macs cannot access any share on our Win2003 server without third party software to allow OSX to comply with required security authentication protocols. If you're sys admin has lower security hurdles you can access from a Mac. There's good third party software which we were forced to buy called Admit Mac <http://www.thursby.com> to gain access to our Win2003 shares.
