Please bear in mind that I know nothing...but at our house, we have 
this setup and it works just fine:
iMac and iBook networked through Airport (the iMac is hardwired to the 
ABS). Cable modem connection to the internet. Epson C80 printer is 
connected to the iMac. Printer sharing enabled on the iMac -- but not 
on my iBook.
