HTML mail from Mail

Hiya,

I've just moved my mum over to OSX and she's now using Mail instead of 
Outlook.

She has set her preferences to create rich text email but when she sends 
me coloured email it comes through B&W - same with emails sent to her 
friemds who previously was receiving coloured emails from her.

Does Mail send HTLM email when it's set to Rich Text or do you have to 
"flip a switch" somewhere else to get it to work?
