There is another method for saving the so-called unsavable movies. Using Firefox (and, my guess includes other Mozilla based browsers), load the page with the said unsavable movie. Choose Tools>Page Info (⌘I). Under the Media tab, choose the movie file, and click on Save As… I prefer this method because it avoids re-downloading the movie and reference links.
