[X4U] How to Capture Streaming Quicktime Locally

How can I capture a streaming QuickTime or MPEG-4 movie locally? I've tried exporting to MPEG-4 and to DV, which creates a large file, but there is only one frame and no audio. Is there some way? Thanks.
