Another thought .... You can install OS9 on your OSX partition. I
assume with a 90G partition you have room for that. Then just use
Startup Disk (in either OS) to go to 9 on that volume and do your
scanning stuff there.
If you don't want to add a drive or erase/re-partition then doing
this you can just chalk up 900MB (less than 1 percent) to your
experience. And/or you can fill it up with 700-800MB of stuff and
still have everything you wanted.
Personally I would back up and format for a one-partition drive though :)
