Trust me, I've gotten bit more than once by what I'm connected to :^/ You don't even want to hear about the weekend I spent trying to troubleshoot a network problem with my PDP-11 :^( I thought it was a software issue as I was installing the networking software for the first time... After what I discovered tonight with my settings I'd also recommend going to the control panel and checking your settings. I think I see why I've been having strange problems connecting to sites. I had two DNS servers listed, but one had a typo in the IP address. I fixed that and added a 3rd server I didn't know about until I checked to see which address I had correct. Hopefully that's the last of that problem. Paul, I don't suppose that you have another system on the network that you can use to ping the Mac that is having the issues?
