[X4U] Don't understand psync.

Is there anybody here using psync for backups?

Why when I use

/usr/local/bin/psync \
-v1 \
-d \
/Applications \
/Library \
/usr/local \
/Users/robert \
/Volumes/Backup > $HOME/backup.log 2>&1

does it not create the directories on the backup?

ie. Applications, Library, /usr/local, /Users/robert does not exist on 
the backup.
