I just got a new G4 iBook to replace my 3+year-old G3 iBook. I used the Migration Assistant to transfer over my user account, applications, preferences, etc. When I installed Tiger on my old iBook, I changed to shortcut to F7, because F12 was the eject button. On my new iBook, when I press F7, nothing happens. But if I press fn-F7, Dashboard will launch. I went to the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane and it lists F7 as the keyboard shortcut but if I hover the cursor over it, it says fn F7. I changed it to F8, and now Dashboard launches whether I hit F8 or fn-F8. Yet if I try and change it back to F7, it will not accept the changed keyboard shortcut unless I type fn-F7. What's the deal?
