[X4U] font control in Mail

         Something's going on in Mail that I don't understand.

         I would like to read all my incoming Mail messages in the  
font and size I choose.  (A seemingly reasonable desire.)  Most of  
the time Mail presents them this way.  On occasion, however, a few  
slip through with other fonts, usually hard to read, colored, or  so  
small that even lawyers can't read them.

         Is there a way that I'm missing to make Mail more consistent?
