I had an old version of VPC (4, I think) that II got 2nd hand; that had the Win98 with it). There are several things that don't work under 98 ... But then again there are things that don't work with VPC/XP too (bluetooth adaptors and Palm hotsyncs to name but 2!) For anyone planning on using VPC ... It's slow. That's why I use 98 if possible. A ballpark figure I heard was "about half the speed of your mac" (So my 1.25GHz iMac is about a 600MHz PC). Kill all unrequired apps, especially as running out of available memory can lead to the Colonel arriving ... sorry _KERNEL_ as in panic! I am currently trying iEmulator, but have had little time to give it a run for its money. It is a lot cheaper than VPC, but needs a Windows CD (VPC usually comes with one). It can (apparently) import Virtual Machines from VPC but II haven't got that to work as yet. A last point. Allow time! I installed the mac part in about 10 minutes. It then took two hours to get the windows side working properly! And don't forget about viruses - I picked three up within about a week of installing VPC. They don't affect the mac files (unless you have a macro virus for MS Office) but can cause problems in the VM OK?
