I will have to track down the 'Localtalk bridge' control panel as it is not on my OS92.2 box I dont think,

Ian,
This will work fine--I use a PPC 7500 do do the same thing-- just make 
sure you have the "LocalTalk Bridge" Control Panel installed on the OS 
9 computer. Also, you can use Timbuktu Pro or a VNC combo to control 
the G3.
