[X4U] Mac OS X 10.3.8 Screwed Up My Mail Send

Bad thing 2:

Mail USUALLY won't send unless I quit and restart. Keeps hanging and 
then delivering server dialog box which doesn't help when I choose the 
correct server name.

Occasionally it works after a restart. But then only a few times b4 
reverting to the server dialog box and failure to send after choosing 
correct server.
