[X4U] Internet Connect stuck on "Loading Internet Connect..."

When I open Internet Connect, it gets stuck on the "Loading Internet 
Connect..." with the purple sphere with the jack in it. If I click on 
one of the connection methods in the toolbar, it highlights, but the 
main pane stays on "Loading Internet Connect...", so I can't 
configure anything. I'm running Panther fully up-to-date on an 
AlBook. I've tried trashing com.apple.internetconnect.plist, and have 
checked my preferences with Preferential Treatment.

Internet Connect used to work on this computer, although I don't use 
it often enough to know when it stopped working. It works fine on 
another computer (a Pismo) also running Panther fully up-to-date, 
although I've got more connection methods configured on the AlBook.

Any ideas?
