[X4U] Applescript to remove spare drive

Boy, this is getting a little frustrating...

I've tried the following two scripts, compiled them, saved both as  
applications and selected them in the Startup Items in the Accounts  
pref pane. The first is the one that worked (and still continues to  
work) in 10.3.6.

Perhaps someone else, who runs Tiger and has more than one drive,  
could give it a test...?

This from 10.3.6:

tell application "Finder"
     eject disk "Spare"
end tell
