You can find fairly cheap 15' firewire cables on eBay.  I've had  
great luck with all the cables I purchased there.

This is the first vendor I bought from on eBay, and his prices still  
look pretty good:

although it's weird to see a bunch of computer peripherals being sold  
besides poker equipment ;-)
