OTOH if Apple can pull it off, they will have a code base and apps that run on both x86 and PPC. So they can negotiate with both major CPU suppliers, and take whatever product best suits a particular design. That might be Power5 or it might be Pentium M. No other computer company can do that. I still reckon the final act in the game of computer industry musical chairs which has been played out this last couple of years, is for IBM and Microsoft to do a deal for PPC Windows, but I think Apple have a much better chance of taking the ISVs with them than that would have. Of course this finally nails down the lid of the coffin on Itanic. It is now strictly an HP proprietary product. Bill
