The only case of data theft I am myself familiar with occurred the
old fashioned way: burglary. Someone came in and stole some
computers and other equipment that would make it look like
marketability was the burglar's standard.

From which I have concluded that the only true security consists of
keeping your computer in a vault of sufficient sturdiness that it
requires dynamite used on the premises to get into it without the
combination, and never using wireless and maintaining security
constantly on the basement and crawl space wiring.

The question really involves whether the client has anything going on
in the business that would be the subject of industrial espionage.
The auto parts dealer really has very little to hide. Having your
employee date the other guy's bookkeeper can be more useful than all
the electronic sniffing you don't know how to use and can't afford to
hire someone to do for you

Now if we are talking about the design division of the auto
manufacturer, or of Apple or M$, it's a different matter.

WEP will beat kiddies who are just going around being curious.
They'll go find someone who isn't using WEP.
