What OS is on the newer computer?

Mac OS 10.3.4 and newer came with Migration Assistant. You boot your 
old Mac in Firewire Target disk mode, connect to the new one and the 
Assistant does the rest. I hear it works pretty well.

Or, you could boot your newer G4 in Target disk mode, connect to your 
old one and use carbon copy cloner to clone your old drive to your new 
G4.
