[X4U] iChat Buddy

How does the buddy list work? The reason I'm asking is that, on the 
weekend, a friend of mine installed AIM on his PeeCee and I added him 
to my buddy list at home. Today, at work, I launched iChat to add him 
to my buddy list here but his name is already there. How come? I use 
the same account (login) at home as I do at work but where exactly is 
the info for my buddy list stored so that it would automatically update 
my work computer? Is the info stored on the .mac server?
