[X4U] Looking for a repair and diagnosis software recomendation

So my knowledge of Linux is limited.


I am currently running 10.2.8 on my powerbook g4 and am very happy with that
however I had an issue recently while using word and was forced to restart the
computer. Now I have an issue involving the top menu bar on the right (almost
all of my icons and controls up there are gone and in system preferences I
can't get them back up there) and when I start the laptop and randomly while
using it the SystemUIServer pops up but doesn't stay on the bottom tool bar.

Realizing I have a problem I looked for my system discs and System Works disc
and realized I cannot find them. Anyone have recomendations for a repair and
diagnosis software since I am appearantly in the market for a new one?
