15% of 1 is 0.15, but to say "15%, by definition, is 15/100=0.15" is incomplete. because that implies that 15% of ANY number is 15/100=0.15 the complete expression should be: "15/100 * n" where n is any number between -infinity and + infinity. KoalaCalc does our calculation for us the way we intend it do: 28.05 + 15% = 32.2575 So, the difference between that or the Panther calc and the Tiger calc is the programming in of the understanding that the user wants 15% OF the number already entered.
