[X4U] Testing RAM (was Re: RAM lessons even the stubborn can learn)

I do 3D and video, and followed recommendations by other people who  
use the 3D software I use..

Most people recommended Crucial, and I think Other World Computing..   
I've gone with these vendors for my last several Macs (Lombard, DP  
G4, DP G5) and have not been sorry.

I have seen the super-cheap RAM sticks out there, and tho I paid more  
for my RAM than those cut rate dealers sell for, I don't exactly  
consider myself having gotten a bad deal..

$120 – $150/stick I think is a righteous price, but I'd rather go  
with a dealer who many people doing demanding work recommend, and not  
have to futz and diddle down the road if/when that cheapie RAM heads  
south.
