[X4U] Applecare - Booting from TechTool CD.

I purchased a new iBook w/AppleCare. The CD came with TechTool 3.0.3 and
would not boot my iBook. This did not surprise me as Apple has shipped
incompatible CDs with AppleCare for many years. Not long after I found this
technote on Apple's KnowledgeBase:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301353 which noted that "Tech
Tool Deluxe 3.0.4 has been released and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4
Tiger volumes." and "contact AppleCare for information about receiving
version 3.0.4." I did contact AppleCare and after a long wait and a lengthy
conversation, the rep agreed to send me a CD with 3.0.4. I received it a few
days later and it boots my iBook just fine. I would recommend you do the
same.
