You probably can't. Canon put it there like a watermark, probably to alert users that they are looking at a copy and not the original. Does Canon charge for paper copies of their manual? If so, that could explain why they felt the need to watermark the PDF -- to avoid people printing out copies and underselling Canon on the price. If you really need it gone, I would write to Canon and ask either A) for a different PDF or B) for the directions to unlock their security features. If you import the individual pages of the PDF into a layout application like QuarkXPress, and print from there, does the watermark still show up?
