Interesting:

Microsoft requests that for IE 7 sites should be rewritten with
standards-compliant code.

Maybe that will be the end of Firefox/Opera/Safari... users being locked out
of sites or seeing scrambled pages.

And the end for developers to put extra effort in maintaining dual codebases
for IE vs. rest of the browsers.
