Will never happen.  One of the problems is that flash memory capacities
are starting to catch up with hard drive capacities like those used in
the iPod mini.  So between solid-state storage and bigger 1.8" drives
in the original iPod, 1" Microdrives will eventually be squeezed out of
the market.
