[X4U] iCal defaults question

Is there any way to change the meeting defaults for iCal?  I would 
like to have an alarm go off 1 minute before each meeting.  Right now 
I have to set it manually, which is a pain and easy to forget.

Failing that, is there any way to trim the list of available alarms 
showing up in the list?  It seems to add an alarm option for every 
alarm length I've ever selected, and trimming the list would make it 
easier to get the 1-minute prior I really want most of the time.
