Check SysPrefs->Universal Access->Seeing and ensure that the Display Enhance Contrast setting is for Normal. As for the profiles. Launch ColorSync Utility.app, Profile First Aid, and verify/repair the profiles. Then, restart and give the Display prefpane another whirl.
