[X4U] Need help or guidance with iPhoto 6

Hello, I don't know if this is the right place to ask. Have to start  
somewhere. If not, please redirect me where I can find some answers.

iPhoto 6 behaves very bizarre. First, don't import photos with an  
underscore in the name like "DSC_0021.jpg", will import it if changed  
for "DSC0021.jpg". It didn't behave like this a few months ago. The  
camera? Nilkon D50. Second, it refuses to import NEF (RAW) photos  
displaying a message saying the file could not be recognized. Any hints?

iMac G5 / 1.8 mhz / 768 RAM. Tiger 10.4.2 français. Never had any  
problems whatsoever with 10.4.2 so I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade if  
someone wants to suggest to go to 10.4.7. It would make me very  
nervous. But I need help anyway.
