FWIW, I use IOExperts <http://www.ioxperts.com/> driver on my Lombard  
machine with an Orinoco wireless card. If you haven't already tried  
their driver, you can download and try it foc. Can't remember the  
cost. Not cheap but not too extortionate IIRC.
