I've seen this discussed in a couple of forums, though it hasn't happened to me: there's a known problem some Panther users have had after updating iTunes to 6.0.2. One workaround suggested is to move iTunes out of the /Applications folder (e.g. to the desktop) before checking permissions. Others suggest going to /Library/Receipts and deleting all the iTunes pkg files except iTunesX.pkg and iTunesPhoneDriver.pkg . Miche.
