The iMic is what you attach to a Mac, not an iPod. Regarding the problem of hearing the drive spin, you can attach a mic to the mic out port on the iTalk. Griffin even makes one themselves, and it is a lavalier mic, so you can attach it to your tie. It's also white, so it fits with the color scheme. Daniel
