[X4U] Network Icons in Dock

I have to access several volumes on other Macs and some on a Windows 2003
server and I put the icons in the bottom of my dock and they appear there
until I restart then I get a question mark where the icons should be. But if
I click the question mark the volumes appear so they work and then the icon
shows up in the dock. It's only a cosmetic problem I suppose but under
Panther the icons stayed there. I'm now using Tiger on a Mactel with all the
current upgrades. 

Any way to make them stay?
