CCC->Prefs->select the Create a disk image on target option.

Probably larger, since I don't think it's compressed. For that, use Disk
Utility->Help->Creating a disk image.

Only if you manually erase the external HD before copying the image to the HD.
CCC won't do that.

post them there. BTW, why are you bothering with disk images?
