That's what I use almost exclusively, >as it's what I use on the machines I get paid for administering. It comes close, and it's what I use. However, if you're working with Operating Systems that doublewidth fonts and a fully functional keypad then there are problems. Apple in its infinite arrogance decided to disable the -xrm flag on xterm, as a result to change the keymappings you have to change them in the .xmodmap file, which changes them for the entire system. From my brief foray into 10.4 things are a little better there, as they significantly improved font handling. The irritating thing is, Windows seems to be the *only* OS with good free terminal emulators, and the best Usenet clients I've seen have also been on Windows. I've actually considered running these under Virtual PC, but VPC seems to have a bad habit of eating itself. On classic TiftyTelnet came pretty close, but couldn't get the fonts right, and the keypad handling wasn't right. I've even demoed the commercial terminal emulation software available for Mac OS X, and none of it seems to get it quite right. I just wish I could find room on my desk for a couple VT420 terminals!
