Please excuse me if this is the second time you've seen the following, but I could swear I sent this response yesterday. However, there's been no reference to it on the list, nor can I find my email in the sent items folder, so here are my reasons why I prefer Firefox: - Requirement to confirm close when quitting: I¹ve once too often hit apple/q when meaning just to close a tab in Safari. - Sessionsaver - if I do quit Firefox (for example to reboot after a software update), next time I launch Firefox reloads all the tabs I had open. - del.icio.us buttons for social bookmarking/tagging. - Greasemonkey allows me to configure how I view sites, most useful of all being the Adblocker script with which I can remove most advertising, particularly irritating animated ones. - Ability to rearrange tabs. - Web developer toolbar - excellent CSS configuration tools. - Scrapbook - allows one to not only save webpages, but rename them, organise them into folders and even annotate them with highlighting and comments. - Page search - I¹ve grown to prefer the extended default capabilities supplied by Firefox for searching for text within a page e.g. Highlight All, Match Case, etc. - Themes - actually I¹m not really bothered about these at all, but the GR Apple (Brazil)¹ one I use is certainly preferable to Safari¹s brushed metal. As to the appearance of type, I've never noticed this and can't tell the difference when doing a side by side test of black Verdana on a white background. However, I'll keep an eye out for differences as I'm interested by this observation. > I could not find Tab Preview, but while hunting for it, found Tab > Sidebar. Could that be the same thing? If not, where do you find Tab > Preview? Though it sounds like something better has been suggested, the homepage for Tab Preview is: http://ted.mielczarek.org/code/mozilla/tabpreview/ All the best, Colin. [http://www.eleventhvolume.com]
