It'd be better to boot into OS 9 itself to install the OS 9 driver, I think. Or, another thought--you said you couldn't "get the printer through Chooser"--will it not let you select it, or it's not listed there? In Tiger, you can print to a Mac OS X printer in Classic by selecting the "LaserWriter 8" driver in the Chooser, supposedly. So, if you can select LaserWriter 8, you might try that, since you're running 10.4.3. Mary
