Most folders should be empty on the new account. Your biggest task will be moving the preference files from the old to the new. Make sure you don't replace any of the new ones. Once you've gotten your new account restored and deleted the old one, I strongly advise getting an external FireWire HD and making a bootable backup/clone using Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper!, etc.
