In my experience with Garmin units, you need to run Garmin's Mapsource application to download maps. I think there are many other applications that will let you upload & download waypoints, etc. - but only Garmin software can download maps to a Garmin GPS. I believe that's fairly standard in the industry, too. For the time being, Garmin software does not run on the Mac OS. With that said, I wonder how "nicely" the Garmin GPS units behave with the USB interface on the Macintel systems running Boot Camp or Parallels? In the past, getting this to work with Virtual PC was "virtually" impossible. :-) Enjoy! -- Jim On 6/17/06 8:29 AM, "Kevin.Hahn at colorado.edu" <Kevin.Hahn at colorado.edu> wrote: > There aren't many GPS units out there that have any sort of good rep for > playing > nice with macs like this (atleast not that I have found hence my looking to > this > list for some help), other features in the GPS can be dealt with later but the > ability to upload maps, download nav points, and have it all interface nicely > so I can print them, and have a LCD on the GPS is all that I really need, the > other features in the specific unit can be compromised if those 4 requirements > are met. > > Then again this would all be mute if I could just buy a new MacBook Pro and > run > boot camp ;)
