Hello, Assumption: N photos from various angles and the goal is to develop a 3-D model. There is also the REALVIZ solution (www.realviz.com). Note: I believe that REALVIZ will cough up QTVR files. Strata (photo3D) is PC only .according to the link supplied in this thread. Notes 1) All of the solutions require some sort of "leg work" on the part of the photographer. This may include the following. a) information on the camera such as focal length and distance to the object. In some cases a measurement of the object along one "straight line" feature on the x or y and possibly the z axis. b) Multiple photos taken from various angles. A full 3-D reconstruction algorithm prefers 4 to 8 side views and above and below views. More views or less views may work. You may actually have to "register points". c) Professional software. REALVIZ is the high end solution that has come down in price. Strata needs boot camp and Windows XP/2000. So, the real question is can you afford the solution. If not, then the question is how easy is it to get a copy of the "giveaway lite or last years version" version of REALVIZ stitcher and does a "giveaway lite or last years version" of Stratafoto3D exist (on windows under boot camp). The HP solution is for panoramas and I have seen very nice demos. You really need the HP camera. The software is designed to help the photographer "register" the various shots inside the camera, so the stitching is trivial for the consumer. Open Source. Does a solution exist? I don't know, but you can search sourceforge.net for "3-D reconstruction" projects. Also, for context, peruse the thread for the original issue and also other hints and links to QuicktimeVR. Note: Some 3-D modelers (like Carrara) will also produce QTVR files from 3-D models. John F. Richardson
