I've been using a Core Duo iMac for the last couple of weeks. I upgraded from a G4 20" iMac with 740 Megs RAM, Airport Extreme, etc. (About to be put on eBay...shameless plug, so email me with questions). I find the Duo to be a MAJOR step up in performance for me from my previous iMac, so I really don't notice much, if any, degradation in speed. Yes, Office apps take a bit longer to launch, but beyond that, I agree that the only app you'll be noticing as any slower is Photoshop.
