It appears that Apple has heard the complaints of those of use who prefer the original usage of the % key. Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later: Calculator may perform division when using % button <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303325> "In Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later, Calculator's percentage button ("%") may unexpectedly divide output instead of calculating percentage (for example, it may divide by 100). Note: This button is only available in the scientific calculator of the Calculator application."
