[X4U] Lost URL entry area in Safari

I have a problem.  Safari has lost it's area to enter a URL.  I can 
go to places via the bookmarks but there is no area to type in an 
address.  Was fine one minute and zapped the next.

I have quit and restarted it, no go.  I am sure some setting got 
changed by the ever present computer ghosts, but so far they have not 
returned to "fix" their dirty work.

Anybody got an idea or direction??
