Is there another way to search? Or, >did Apple just make searching/finding such files not possible? Not sure. I have used "Others" in the Find window to choose my System folder, and if I search in the Find window, if does find CFMSupport. On the other hand, I then chose a preference file deeper in the System folder, and the first time I looked for it the Find window found it. So I tried again to be sure, and it would never find that pref file again! On the other hand, I then chose "Other" in the dropdown list of search criteria and chose "FileName" and added it to my Favorites. I then searched in the special location that included my System folder, and it found preference files for me. It's not as fast as the regular criteria, however. How exactly did you do your search and set up the search location?
