[X4U] Lost Sound

Anyone know of a reason why I would lose sound in a few apps. Like Office
and Diablo? These are the only things that seem to have lost sound.
Yesterday I watched a few movie clips with Mplayer and Quicktime and after
that I lost the sound. I have trashed prefs, ran the apple disk utl, ran a
few other things like Onyx. I have even reinstalled Office and still no
sound.
