[X4U] Copy of DVD with write protect

Hello Everyone,

I have a friend who has a car with a navigation system that uses a DVD.

Legalities aside, he wants to make a backup copy in case his current  
DVD gets damaged. The DVD's go for about $185 each!

He's tried it on his PC, but the copy protect system on it won't let  
him. I have no other details.

I'm thinking that perhaps I could copy it using Toast. Since it's a  
PC DVD, Toast and the Mac will recognize it (I think?), but won't be  
able to "play" it.

So perhaps the copy protect thingy will just be bypassed?

What does everyone think?
