There could be a problem with the OS8 version of the PPD.
You can get an OSX version here!

Also is he setting up the printer as an IP Printer? If so make sure  
he enters BINPS for the Queue information. I have also had no problem  
connecting to this type of printer. Hope this helps, Wayne.
